As this brutal winter rages on — another foot of snow in White Plains tomorrow! — Surreal Time Press and I are ever so slowly stirring ourselves from a two-month hibernation.
Before I dive into a barrage of new posts and shenanigans, I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who’s hung around. This whole thing is almost a year old, which is utterly crazy.
Two quick bits of news:
LO, THERE SHALL COME A TWITTER!
The siren call of social media has finally had its way with me. Henceforth STP can be found in Twitter form here: @SurrealTimePres
My hope is that this will be more than just another way to promote posts on the site and will actually become its own thing, with miniature versions of the reviews and other stuff found here.
AND NOW: THE FICTION THAT WALKS LIKE A MAN!
The other thing is a little more nerve-racking. Starting this Friday, I am going to be posting “Shorts,” many of which kind of ride the line between fiction and commentary. Some of these are old, some are new. Some have never been read by another human. I have no idea how this will go over, but there you go.
But don’t fret — we’ll also be back to business as usual with Indie Theater Pre-Games and Reviews in the next two months, including Gideon Theater’s production of Kill Shakespeare, which is based on an IDW comic.
Anyway, thanks again for reading. Now back to your regularly scheduled Frozen parody.
